First
Paragraph of Art. X of the Treaty of Utrecht 1713:
"The Catholic King (of Spain) does hereby for Himself, His heirs
and successors,
yield to The Crown of Great Britain the full and entire property (i.e.
ownership) of the town and castle of Gibraltar,
together with the port,
fortifications and ports thereunto belonging; and gives up the said property to be held and
enjoyed absolutely with all manner of right for ever, without exception"
Gibraltar constitution:
"Her Majesty's Government will never enter into arrangements under which the people of Gibraltar would pass under the sovereignty of another state against their freely and democratically expressed wishes!"

In 2007 we
remembered The
Liberation of the Falkland Islands from
Argentine occupation by British Forces 25 years ago.
Thursday
14th June 2007 marks the 25th anniversary of the
Liberation of the Falkland
Islands following the invasion by Argentina on 2nd April 1982. Major General Jeremy Moore (Commander of the British Land Forces)
flew into Port Stanley and accepted the
Argentine surrender at 2100,
14th June 1982. The war had lasted 74 days. Moore radioed to London,
"The Falkland Islands
are once more under the government desired by their inhabitants.
God save the Queen."
At 2215, 14th June, Mrs. Thatcher announced the surrender to
the House of
Commons
Since then, the Falkland Islands have
flourished, both economically and socially, and are
still a dependent territory of Britain, and will remain so
for as
long as the Islanders wish.
